Analysis of online payment gateway model to support e-commerce business process - a case study of PT XYZ
The purpose of this research is to study and analyze the payment models in supporting e-commerce industry in indonesia. Out of many factors, the availability of convenient and trust-building online payment service is one of important feature in supporting online transactions. There are various models of payment being used for online transactions. However, most of these models are purely adopted from offline world for online payments. Some models are easy to implement but ineffective, involving high risk and cost for both buyer and seller. Some other models are more complicated and expensive, making it difficult for individual sellers or smaller scale e-commerce businesses to access. E-commerce market and online payment ecosystem in indonesia is developing and looking for an ideal form to suit local characteristics and behavior. The size of indonesia?çös population and growth of the internet users are two among other indicators that the market is very potential. Moreover, the flourishing online social network in indonesia is a promising embryo for social commerce. As the findings of the study, there is a need to develop an online payment model which is interconnected, flexible, and support customer-to-customer (c2c) online transactions.
