This research discusses strategic controlling system of a company as a tool tornEnsure that strategy is being implemented in the organization, especially by its strategicrnBusiness units. It starts from an assessment and analysis of the current situation, designrnOf an appropriate system, and finally the implementation process. The main objective isrnTo ensure that pt. Z is on its track to achieve their strategic objective.rn Pt. Z, for the next definition is called the company, achieved a good level ofrnBusiness growth from the past few years. The company believes that the external factorrnIs the main driver for the growth. Supported by a favorable economic outlook inrnIndonesian market, the company can boost its revenue to reach the annual target.rnDepending on external factor is a non-sustainable way of doing business, as if thernExternal factors are no longer favorable, the company may be in difficult situation, asrnThere is no variables that it can control to drive its direction.rn Strategic directions have been set to develop the business in a more innovativernWay rather than depending on traditional strategy and economic factors. Exploring a newrnMarket, expanding the business network, more focus on certain segment combined withrnStrategic sales package are some examples of operational strategy to achieve company?srnStrategic objective for a sustainable business development. With five business unitsrnOperating under the umbrella of the company, an appropriate strategic controlling system must exist as a basic infrastructure to ensure that all elements of the organization arernGoing to the right track with final destination strategic objective.rn The research starts with analyzing the organization chart and parenting style thatrnCompany implements to its business units, continued with assessment of robert simon?srnFour levers of control, and internal control environment. To get the understanding ofrnThe current situation, this research collect information from interview with selectedrnOrganization members in all level and functions, also observation of company operation,rnPolicy, documentation, and financial performance.rn The result of research shows that pt. Z has not yet implemented a sufficientrnStrategic controlling system to secure its strategic objective, and therefore, a companyrnNeeds an appropriate control infrastructure. With recommendation from this research, thernCompany is able to formulate a better strategic control system in order to safeguardrnStrategy implementation by means of appropriate measurement and monitoring system.
