Analysis of flight crew training effectiveness n PT Garuda Indonesia

Jaeger, Hans - Personal Name; arfianto, pahlawan - Personal Name;

The purpose of this research is to analyse flight crew training effectiveness in pt garuda indonesia and its influence factors. It begins by defining training effectiveness using kirkpatrick model of training evaluation. Feedback questionnaires are used to evaluate trainees? Reaction. Examination results are used for learning evaluation of trainees. Simulator training result and flight data recorder is used for flight crew behaviour evaluation. The result of training is analysed against company?s Objectives towards training. Those data are also compared with interview from several training experts in the company.rnTechnically, training has been implemented effectively as far as the minimum required standard knowledge by the authority is concerned. The training software in garuda is certainly placed in the upscale of aviation training. However, implementation of those programs is another matter. Not well-coordinated training program between the garuda indonesia flight operation department and garuda indonesia training centre is a product of improper implementation of cross-departmental training management. This bureaucratic training system had led to inefficiency and shadows company objectives. Additionally, knowledge deficiency report or kdr can be used to further enhance the competencies of flight crew.rnInterviews with all instructors revealed that although flight data monitoring is a reflection of flight crews behaviour in flights, the events occurred might not be the result of insufficient training. Other factors in flight may have a big impact. One interesting identified opinion about these recurring events is the crews? Attitude towards safety. Integrated flight data analysis for training or ifdat is an automatic system to analyse a flight event that concerned with training. It aims to identify specific mishap in flight and interpret the information to improve training.rnWith the advancement of aviation in the world, the technology, regulation, and management in flight will change in the future. It may not be enough to maintain the current requirements. Therefore, it is essential to focus beyond the minimum required training. The growth of human capital should progress into the future by exploring and studying the knowledge and understanding of the aviation industry. The advancement of the garuda indonesia training centre as a corporate university is important as a learning and development centre of aviation.
