The Effort of Sundanese restaurant to overcome Padangnese restaurant
Today, the most developed and popular restaurants are those serving Sundanese and West Sumatra (Padang or Minang) food. The position of Padangnese restaurant in the market of ethnic restaurants is considered as market leader; while on the other hand, Sundanese restaurant is considered as market challenger and thus the purpose of this thesis to identify the effort of Sundanese restaurant to be comparable with Padangnese restaurant. The primary data are gathered from interview with both restaurant managers. Secondary data are gathered from questionnaire and information from restaurant and internet. The restaurants are competing indirectly, means although they have different type of food but offer same level of food and service to customer. To make the position in the market stable, and to gain more popularity, the efforts of Sunda restaurant are to maintain the quality of food, followed by keeping up with the food trend but still maintain the uniqueness of Sundanese tradition.
