The Governance of PT X for Its Sustainability

In response to competitive business environment where professionalism of the management and governance in an organization has been the basic of a successful organization, PT X which is a family-owned company h as been operating in a traditional family company where the management is handled by family members, where the level of trust and communication as well as coordination are poor. However, the top management (Owners of PT X) has realized that PT X cannot compete with competitive business environment if the governance and management have not been considered as an important part in running a company especially a family business.nnThis company is adopting the concept of a traditional family company where almost all area of the activities starting from production activities, marketing, even the packaging and delivery of the product to the customers and the collection of payment from sales are all managed by family members.nnWith this concept, PT X might have survived few years ago but with the current condition where business competition is very tight, the ownbers should change the concept of running a company. Strategic parts of the company should be considered instead of managing all the operational work.nnIn order to be able to compete with competitive environment, one way is to re-manage the governance system of PT X, especially the governance in the boards.nnThis paper will concentrate on providing good governance system for PT X sustainability in the future.
