The environmental management centre (emc), ministry of environment has been built since 1993 through a grant aid project from japan. Since the emc has been permitted to run a business service, the center needs business strategies to point the direction of the business.nnIn analysing the internal aspects of the organization, the writer utilized several methods, namely the critical success factors, the value chain, and the core business process. The results of the analysis were then combined with the vrio method before the writer came up with her recommendation.nnSeveral internal strengths determined by the analysis were based on possessed resources and capabilities. The analysis done using the rbv analysis showed that the core of the business is environmental laboratory.nnIn promoting the business, the product/service concept-driven strategy is proposed for the preliminary business strategy operation for the emc.
